Events [Apr. 1st, 2004|08:07 pm]
Lately, life has been so busy, I havent had time to update. At Danielle's request, here is the update:
Yes, I fell down an airconditioning vent and was pulled out with the jaws of life, a saw, and many rescue workers. It sucked. It hurt. A lot. I dont want to think about it.
I got a client. I got another. And another. I think my total count is 3 at the moment. Working on getting another.
I was second chair on a murder trial. I was lucky to see one of the top 3 criminal defense lawyers in central Georgia in action. She did wonders. She even got one of the two witnesses to admit that she was lying. It all went well until the defendant said two things that hurt the case: 1) Shooting a man in the back when the man is running away is self defense (while this sounds odd, in reality, the bad part was admitting this as it was an admission that the man was running away... the defendant did have a good self defense claim... the other guy twisted and reached towards his pants as if for a gun before running... I could go into a lot of detail... but that would be boring (and some of it I can not go into because of atty/client priv... but what is a matter of public record I can discuss). 2) For some reason, the defendant testified that After the victim fell, got up, fell, and died, he got back up and started talking to people. Yes. The dead man was talking. Needless to say, the entire thing was an extremely educational experience. While I do not plan on taking many criminal cases (other than the initial indigent defense... which is more pro bono than anything), watching Ms. Jacobs in action was amazing. She even had her son and stepdaughter working on the case a bit, there was so much to do. She trusted me to research and argue a motion in limine (a motion wherein you argue to keep evidence out of the trial), which I won. One small step...
I just spoke to a witness in one of my current cases, so I have to go get some supplies before Nelson gets mad and quits. He has been asking for a new network card for weeks... as well as pegs to hold the shelves on the bookshelves for the files room. Then home to bed. I may sleep late and set my alarm for 7:00 tomorrow, even though I will be leaving here at the usual 9:00.

Gonads and Strife... [Feb. 22nd, 2004|09:46 pm]
I have a seminar tomorrow... "bridge the gap" for new attorneys. I have to get up at 5:00 am, so I am going to bed now. I hope the lectures tomorrow will be as good as this video:

Dee 2: performance of a lifetime AND Lobster sticks to magnet! [Feb. 22nd, 2004|09:33 pm]
So, my wonderful friend Jessy is going to design my law office for me for free (Although I did give her gas money and bought her my first tax-deduction (a meal) so that I wouldnt be mooching too much). I am very excited. We measured the office and then went around town to furniture stores (in one of which I was able to introduce her as my interior designer). After that, Danielle and I went to the Fayettville comic store, which is apparently better than 99% of comic stores out there (she told me as much) AND they are moving to a new location and expanding. Danielle flashed an old guy her thong pantied ass accidentally as we went up stairs in her short short mini skirt at one of the furniture places and I spanked her in the store, so Jessy saw her ass, but other than that, the day was pretty free of embarrassment for her. Of course, on the way back, she decided to tell me a joke. "Knock knock." "Who is there?" "Interupting cow." "Interrupti..." "MOOOO!" "Knock knock." "Who is there?" "Interupting Chicken." "Interrupti..." "Cluck Cluck" "Knock knock." "Who is there?" "Interupting goat." "Interrupti..." "BAAAA" (sounded more like a sheep to me) "Knock knock." "Who is there?" "Interupting dog." "Interrupti..." "Arf Arf." "Knock knock." "Who is there?" "Interupting horse." "Interrupti..." "Neigggggggh!" Then a car passed us with a stuffed tiger in the back window. I knew what was coming. "Knock knock." "Who is there?" "Interupting lion." ::My laughter:: "Interrupti..." "Rawr!" She admitted that she couldnt remember what the tiger was called :-)

I would like to note that those with a high independence rating are listed as "loner" on the site and part of having a low score is being "loud" and apparently since I am a party goer, that is the result. Open mindedness indicates that I dont fall into the normal pattern of thought without questioning the world. :-P I am proud that paranoia is so low. Emotional stability... um, yeah. 60 percent isnt bad, but it isnt good either. Hmm.. apparently I depend too much on others for my emotional well being. Isnt that normal and healthy though? Friends and significant others should be a part of your emotional makeup. Or so thinketh I.

Entry 3... the first public entry [Feb. 19th, 2004|09:31 am]
Danielle and I are doing well as a couple. My law practice is coming together. My friends are supportive. Life is good.

There are only a few more things to be done at the office, and I am told they will be finished before the end of the month. March 1 remains my startdate.

Nelson is a lifesaver helping me out and now Tessa is going to intern in the summer. Yay!

Danielle claims jealousy of Nelson and Tessa both. Yes. My girlfriend is not only jealous of the girl that will be working at my office... she is jealous of the guy too. Not sexually jealous, but time jealous. Yesterday, she suggested that my working would "cut into her style". Heh, my girlfriend likes me.

Oh, and just to embarrass Danielle a bit, while no one saw us "window dancing" (a story wherein a guy saw us in a window in Athens and thought I was dancing naked... not seeing Danielle's hands on the window...) my father apparently could hear "rutting noises" upstairs. :-D Too bad upstairs is all mine. (Note to self... never rent my upstairs to my children).

While I wasnt sure about the renting at home business, it is actually convenient. Not only do I have my old room downstairs, I have the entire upstairs for when I have female companionship and have access to the guest bedroom and have my old bedroom downstairs for guests to visit. (I used to have the upstairs anyway... why do I have to rent it? Of course, rent is cheap cheap, utilities are free, food is mostly free. Cant beat that.)

Oh, for V-day, Danielle gave me a nice leather "rug beater" paddle to use on her bottom. Very nice. Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust as well. Very sweet. And, apparently Chobits is on its way as well. I am very happy. I dont know why she bought so much for me though. She needs to save her money for things like gas... to come down... so I can spank her bottom. (For those of my friends who are wondering why I make the poor girl drive down... I am giving her gas money. As soon as I get everything done for my practice, I hope to drive up one weekend. I am not being an ass... I just **can not** leave right now because of all that must be done in starting up a law office. (A guy has to be able to provide, ya know?))

Danielle, you have been bugging me to update, well, here it is! I would embarrass you more by talking about how cute your bottom is or how sexy you look all tied up, but I decided not to do that. After all, that might discourage you from asking me to update my live journal. ;-)
